Practice areas
Three areas of Chicago law, handled by people who do them every week
Business law, real estate law and estate planning often meet: a founder buys a building, a homeowner puts the house in a trust, a family business plans who takes over. Keeping all three under one roof means one conversation instead of three firms.
What brings you here?
§ I · For owners
Business law
For owner-run companies of two to fifty people, from the first filing with the Illinois Secretary of State to the day the business changes hands.
- LLC and corporation formation, with an operating or shareholder agreement
- Customer, supplier and contractor agreements
- Buying or selling a business
- Early help when a contract goes wrong
§ II · For buyers, sellers and landlords
Real estate law
Home purchases and sales across Chicago, condominiums and two-flats, and commercial leases for small landlords and tenants. In Illinois each side of a home sale normally has an attorney; we make that part calm and quick.
- Attorney review of purchase contracts
- Residential and commercial closings
- Condo resale documents and association questions
- Title problems that hold up a sale
§ III · For families
Estate planning
Plans that say who looks after your children, who manages your money if you cannot, and how your home and savings pass on. We also help executors and trustees settle an estate in Cook County.
- Wills and guardian nominations
- Revocable living trusts, with help retitling assets
- Illinois powers of attorney for property and health care
- Probate and trust administration

If you call about one of these, we tell you in the first few minutes and suggest where to look, such as a bar association lawyer referral service, so you do not lose time.
